About Us

Welcome to Talkin’ Turkey Theatre Company, a fresh and energetic presence in London’s theatre scene, committed to creating content that is both engaging and socially relevant. Despite our recent inception, our company is far from inexperienced. Our team is comprised of individuals with rich and varied experiences in theatrical arts. We are a collective of seasoned actors, playwrights, and directors, each contributing a wealth of knowledge and distinct insight to our work.

Our mission at Talkin’ Turkey Theatre Company is to produce bold and thought-provoking theatre that addresses contemporary issues. We believe that theatre has the power to not just reflect society, but to challenge and influence it. Our productions focus on a range of themes, from social justice and political developments to personal identity and the intricacies of community life.

We embrace a theatre that is fearless and uncompromising. We are not afraid to explore uncharted territories or challenge conventional narratives. Using a mix of traditional and innovative storytelling techniques, we aim to create experiences that are not only immersive but also provoke thought and discussion among our audiences. Our goal is to stimulate reflection and debate, encouraging audiences to ponder and question, rather than providing definitive answers.

Join us on this exciting journey as we navigate the rich landscape of human experience and artistic expression. At Talkin’ Turkey Theatre Company, we are not just making plays; we are making a difference.

Animal Farm, The Sequel

In the aftermath of a revolution gone awry, the beasts of Animal Farm embrace a new ideology, 'Neoanimalism', hoping it will lead them to true freedom and prosperity. As they navigate this new era, they are challenged by the intricacies of democracy, trade, environmental degradation, and the tantalizing temptation of panzucar - a deceptively sweet distraction. Soon it becomes evident that the appealing veneer of Neoanimalism masks deep-seated struggles and familiar contradictions. Fast-forwarding three generations beyond the closure of George Orwell's seminal work, this gripping tale continues the saga on Animal Farm, unveiling layers of ambition, deceit, and the relentless pursuit of an ideal world.

'Animal Farm, The Sequel' is a continuation of Orwell’s legacy in a modern context. It stands as a thought-provoking, timely piece that resonates with contemporary global challenges. The play blends satire, drama, and social commentary to delve into the themes of power, greed, and the corruption of ideals. Set against the backdrop of environmental decay, inequality, and societal unrest, the play is a stark reminder of the challenges facing our own world, urging audiences to engage with global issues.

'Animal Farm, The Sequel' is the first production of Talkin’ Turkey Theatre and was a winner of the prestigious New Wimbledon Theatre Premieres Season of New Writing Contest.

So current, so interesting, so good

Lots of commentry on what is going on in real life right now, perfect timing with the US election coming up. It’s so current, so interesting, so good – I’ll have to go home and digest it.

Brilliant

It was brilliant and we loved it. There was a large cast of 18 on a small stage but it was really well managed and very lively.

Really entertaining

I thought it was really really entertaining. I really liked all the different characters and the way they personified the animals.

Really excellent writing

I know the story of Animal Farm and I just thought it was very very good the way you took it forward. You went on in time, and I think some of the things that you envisage that would happen was really really excellent writing so well done.

Interesting and exciting and terrifying

It is absolutely the most exceptional piece of theatre I have seen in a long time. It is so relevant to current affairs, it’s interesting and exciting and terrifying. I highly recommend seeing it.
