Celeste is a multi-talented theatre maker from New Orleans, currently based in London, with extensive experience in acting, directing, and playwriting. She graduated from Brown University with a degree in Theatre Arts and Performance Studies and History (with a focus on Radical Social Change), where she received the M.H. Hicks award for Promising Woman Graduate in Theatre. She also holds an MA in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. As an actor, she has graced the stage in a wide range of productions, including her roles as Third Witch in ‘Macbeth ‘ and Ariel in ‘The Tempest’ at the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival. She wrote ‘A Lady Does Not Scratch Her Crotch’, a solo play that she has toured at the Tank in New York, at the Central Square Theatre in Boston, at the Nola inFringe Fest, and at Edinburgh Fringe. She also performed in ‘Shakespeare’s Clowns ‘ (The Players), ‘The Great Filter’ (Barton Booth), ‘Uncynical Queer Joy is the Solution to the Rise of Global Fascism’ (Good Work Gallery) and ‘Amelia and Pippi’ (Unicorn Gallery). Her latest credit as an actor is for her role in ‘TANA’ by Isabella Londoño, which was showcased at the Bread & Roses Theatre and featured at the Edinburgh Fringe 2023. Celeste’s versatility is further demonstrated through her work as a director, successfully bringing to life productions such as ‘Medea,’ ‘Wet Tiger’ by Austin Dowling, and ‘Glen Gary Glen Escalator’ by Jon Hudson, Calvin Cole, and Emily Duncan. Celeste has also directed her own plays, ‘Virtually Yours’ and ‘This is Eden.’
